Guest On a Talk Show

You never really think about all the different types of VIP guest you see on Oprah or the Tyra Banks Show or Ellen. But today when I was watching Oprah with Tina Fay and Steve Carrol for their interview on their most recent movie they just played in, Date Night, it made me think about what would I be asked and what would I be like if I were to go on a talk show after successfully selling #1 Bestselling novels. I mean really, I don't know if you guys noticed or not but when ever someone asks me about my books I get really nervous and I simply always say "You'll just have to read it. I'm a really bad explainer." Then the person looks kind of down. I don't blame them! I mean, I'm THRILLED about people taking an interest in my writing and wanna know more, that's GREAT! But honestly, I am a terrible explainer. So I pray that the host wont say "What is your book about?" I don't think he or she will ask that though since the answer is right in front of them (usually the host will have some kind of prop based on whatever the talk show is about. Ex: a copy of my book.)

Alright now, I wonder which talk show I'd most likely to be on. To me, every talk show host is different. Like, iCarly and The Tonight Show are completely opposite of each other. Although, iCarly really isn't a talk show-talk show. Sometimes they have VIP on there.  Ellen has always been my favorite! I loved her from the time she played dory on Finding Nemo! She's such a character in real life and she brings animated characters to life! She's hilarious, down to earth, and seems like a really nice person. Besides, if you ever get lost she's awesome with directions (P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney.)

I'd love to meet Ellen she makes everything more fun. Maybe I should have my people call her people! HA!  Ellen I believe can make you lighten up when you're nervous plus she gets to the point so the interview is not to short and simple. I wonder what she would ask me. I mean, I DID have a unprofessional interview (but it was a really good interview) by my youngest sister. She was practicing on me because she wants to be an advice columnist when she grows up like Phoebe on Charmed.. Plus, I think she also wanted to do 'somethings' with interviewing VIP. Her questions were really good. Questions I never thought about before but somehow easy to answer but interesting. So BRAVO sis!

But now my sister wants to be a lawyer which is funny because Phoebe's demon boyfriend was a lawyer!

If I ever end up on a talk show or my books are talked about, I will definitely let you all know and tell you the time I will be airing.  Maybe I will bring an interview buddy with me like Tina Fay did today! Even though this person has nothing to do with my books or anything (except she is my idol and all that good stuff) I'd love to bring Melinda Shankar from one of my favorite TV series: Degrassi!

She plays Alli Bhandari! My favorite character, if I have not already mentioned that.

You never know who you will get to know in the future if you become famous or...whatever. Melinda was really surprised the other day when she got to meet her idol"s"! Yes, its plural! She took pictures with them and everything and posted it to her FanPage on facebook! Otherwise I'd love to bring my favorite author with me too: Meg Cabot     .
So always, always, always take a wonderful opportunity when one comes knocking on your door because it will lead to new things and possibly new people. Hey, my cousin met Julia Roberts when she went to New York with her choir class! See? So go for it guys! You only live once!  Even though I might get all nervous and freez, I'm still gonna go on that talk show!
(Oh by the way guys, Degrassi is on in FIVE MINUTES!)
Holly Crap, I gotta go guys!  Byyye!

You and The Blackness

Picture yourself in nothing but blackness. There's nobody around. No answers. No light at the end of the tunnel. All there is, is you and you're question "How the hell do I get out of here?" That's all there is in the blackness. There's no path, no directions. You're scared and hurt or possibly even confused. Did you picture this for me. No, I'm sorry! Did you picture this for yourself? If you didn't please take a moment because what I'm about to say next is one of the most important things I have ever posted in my blog.
So take a few seconds.

This place actually exist. People end up here when they have no self respect and when they don't know how to. When I said there are no paths and directions I meant it. But you can make them even if they aren't existing right now. The only reason why there are none is because the person didn't make any yet. People, my blog today is about heroism, you, and doing things that matter.  You all need to read this blog because truth is you probably will end up in that blackness someday. Or you already have. I'm going to help you prepare if you ever end up there. So first things first: Part one-You-

You
One of the biggest reasons why you'll probably end up there (if you do or if you already have and can't find you're way out) is because you have been focusing on other people and trying to make them happy, and worrying about not pissing them off or you just want to be with them so you're doing everything you can to make them like you....A LOT. You could either be offering to pay for them when they don't really need help at all, not speaking up to them when they've treated you wrong (because its happened and it will), and just silly stuff like that. There's a whole list. Okay now, here's the problem....if you keep doing this they will take huge advantage of you and you wont even recognize it because you've already given them the privilege of doing so. This is where the "first you" come in.
Why are "you" still trying? Is it taking "you" anywhere"? Is this making "you" happy? Does this benefit "yourself"? Answer is most likely no. Don't EVER let anyone take advantage of you. You are a person with feelings, a heart, and  you do matter! This is probably ending up hurting you. Get away from this and speak up.

Another one of the biggest reasons is lack of self-esteem. Remember what I told you: You matter! But not everyone in the whole world is going to end up liking you. So why are you hanging around with that person or people I mentioned with the description above? Here's what to do: Hang around with the people you know who cares about you and would do anything for you. The people that accept you and tell you wonderful things about you because if you're lacking self esteem its probably because when you were busy hanging around with the type of people above they weren't making you feel very special...were they? The type of people that I JUST mention (yeah the ones who care and tell you nice things) are the ones that you will enjoy time with more.  I guarantee you that if you do this you will feel so much better and will gain self esteem AND self respect. I know because I've been in the blackness before.

One last reason that I'm going to list is self awareness. You all know the gut feelings we get. This is one of the best things that can help you. It detects what is right and what is wrong. Its your friend-go with it! This have everything to do with self respect! It keeps you safe. Here's a little hint: the gut feeling goes off every time you're close to a step closer to the Blackness. All I have to say is GO GO GO with your self awareness/gut feeling thing. It is ALWAYS you're friend.

Next on the list is
Heroism
Now, this is a harder task. If you know something is wrong (ex. bully picking on person minding their own business) speak up and say something. Because if you can give respect to humanity and others around you, you will be greatly rewarded. What goes around comes around. You will be so surprised at what that person will do for you next. HEY, you might of even just earned a new friend! But heroism goes with anything. Be a hero for someone AND MOST IMPORTANTLY be a hero for "yourself."  If you know you're starting to slip in that Blackness and you know you wont like it then WHY IN THE HELL ARE YOU LETTING YOURSELF SLIP? This is you we are talking about!

One of the most important thing I heard in my life is "Teach people the way you want to be treated". You should and with that being said I think its very much possible that you can teach yourself how to treat you. Definitely!  All of this matters. "You take care of Number One and Number One is you! How can anybody take care of you if you cant take care of yourself?"

YOU dig the paths and make the directions! You decide where the road stops and which way it continues! You're the driver of you're life. If you keep driving down the wrong path and keep crashing into things your head lights are going to burn out. One last word of advice, buckle up, use your horn, kick out the garbage in your trunk/ backseat (hint: the wrong people), your back up drivers will stay buckled for the drive (trust me they will), turn on the radio and enjoy the ride.

Remember all these things I said to do, DO IT, and see how far you go and how happy you will be!
