Fandom

Instead of jamming out to my Shakira-Live From Paris DVD right away, I got this really interesting topic to blog about first!

Fandom. Now if you're a die-hard fan of something you know what it means and how it feels to project how much you love this person or thing. Am I right? Probably! When entering into fandom world at that level (die hard), I noticed it's very competitive. A lot of us judge and compare one another of how much of a true fan we all are. "Well no, I'm a bigger fan than you are, because I have this, this, and this. You only have this and that".

We judge and compare each other based on materialism and merchandise of that thing we're a fan of. OR how much information we know on it or him/her. We shouldn't be doing that, because you don't measure a fan based off of what they know or how much merchandise they own. Not everyone has the money to deck out their room with all things of  "so and so". Not everyone has the time to be researching or reading magazines to get information.

(This is not me or my room)

I'm one of the craziest and biggest fans of Shakira, but I don't know everything about her history and background of her songs, and my room isn't bombarded with Shakira merchandise. Since the world is going to judge and compare anyway, we should judge and compare by what's in our heart for that person or thing. That's where the fandom comes from.

I'll prove it you:: I have so many drawings of anime. BUT am I a fan of anime? No. I just like to draw them. Point proven.

Creatively Speaking,
